About Us
Excel Education and General Business PLC is a private limited company established towards the end of 1998 E.C. The organisation was founded by experienced educators who have served in the teaching profession for many years and possess strong academic qualifications.
At the time of its establishment, the organisation aimed to engage in various fields of work related to education. One of its primary areas of focus was formal education. Accordingly, Excel Academy began providing regular education in September 2006 (1999 E.C.) after obtaining a licence from the Adama City Administration Education Office. It initially started by offering classes from kindergarten up to the first cycle of primary education (Grades 1 – 4) and has since expanded to provide instruction up to Grade 12.
One of the key objectives that the academy has been focusing on—and will continue to pursue—is to produce students who have a strong foundation for the next level of education and are capable of being competitive; who are enriched with good moral values; who have a sense of love for their country; and who are well-rounded in both their academic performance and behaviour at all levels of education offered by the academy. Additionally, the academy aims to become a preferred institution within the community.
Due to its strong and dedicated efforts, the academy has achieved numerous accomplishments. However, this does not mean that the work was easy or free from challenges. The academy has gone through many ups and downs. Currently, the academy is carrying out strong and effective educational activities through its six branch schools.
As we extend our deepest gratitude to all those who have supported and assisted the academy in various ways to help it reach this level, the Board of Directors of Excel Education and General Business PLC wishes all students who are preparing to sit for regional and national examinations every success. The Board also conveys its sincere best wishes to the academy’s teachers, staff members, and parents for continued success, happiness, and fulfilment in all their future endeavours.

Milestones of Growth
- 2007 (1999 E.C.): Licensed for KG and Primary education (Grades 1–4)
- 2010 (2002 E.C.): Commenced National Examinations for Grade 8.
- 2012 (2004 E.C.): Commenced National Examinations for Grade 10.
- 2018 (2010 E.C.): Commenced University Entrance Examinations for Grade 12
